Nothing brings learning to life like real-world experience. This week-long trip’s engaging lesson plan gives kids an education in biology and ecology that can never be found in a textbook. Here, spend the days (and nights!) studying the flora and fauna that inhabit the cloud forest and Manuel Antonio National Park. Day 1 San José
Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer included.
Day 2 San José/La Fortuna
Set off from the capital and enjoy the countryside of the Central Valley. Stop for a tortilla-making lesson, along with a typical Costa Rican lunch.

Day 3 La Fortuna
Take to the lake for a morning of stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking on Lake Arenal, before a free afternoon. Meals included: Breakfast
Day 4 La Fortuna/Monteverde
Travel by bus and boat through the stunning Costa Rican scenery up into the cloud forest. Take an included guided night walk to learn about nocturnal life in the jungle firsthand. Meals included: Breakfast
Day 5 Monteverde
Enjoy a free day in this lush cloud forest region. Opt to fly above the trees on a canopy zipline tour, go horseback riding in the hills or visit the butterfly garden.

Day 6 Monteverde/Manuel Antonio
Take a guided hike through the national park keeping an eye out for the wildlife that can be seen through the trees. Meals included: Breakfast
Day 7 Manuel Antonio
Enjoy a free day for several optional activities like mangrove kayaking, surf lessons, a sunset catamaran tour, or take some time to relax on the beach.

Day 8 Manuel Antonio/San José
Free morning to enjoy more time at the beach. Return to San José in the afternoon. Free evening in San José.

At the time of booking, a non-refundable upfront deposit (the “Upfront Deposit”) in the amount specified below, as applicable, per person per Tour is due to the Tour Operator (the “Upfront Deposit Offer”).

THE FINE PRINT
Passengers who pay only the Upfront Deposit at the time of booking must pay the balance of G Adventures’ standard deposit, in accordance with G Adventures’ booking terms (https://www.gadventures.com/terms-conditions/booking-terms/) on March 1, 2021. Payment of the balance of the price for any products or services booked is due 60 days before the departure date of the first product or service included in the applicable booking, or 120 days in the case of Expedition tours. If such date is earlier than March 1, 2021, full payment is due as outlined in the prior sentence. Upfront Deposit Offer does not apply to Private Groups, Independent trips, or Day Tours.
In order to be eligible for the Upfront Deposit Offer and any discounts set out in these terms, services must be booked between December 25, 2020 at 12:01 EST and January 31, 2021 at 23:59 EST, for travel departing between January 1, 2021 and March 30, 2022 (the “Great Adventure Sale Period”). Offer is valid only when applied to new bookings and bookings made using a Suspension Travel Credit issued as a result of a tour suspension due to COVID-19. Cannot be combined with any other offers, promotions or discounts other than the G Adventures’ Great Adventure Sale and Book With Confidence and is subject to availability.
LIFETIME DEPOSIT
A travel industry first, Lifetime Deposits offer any of our passengers forced to delay a departure to now retain their initial deposit for use at a later date at no extra charge—and with no questions asked. The Lifetime Deposit policy allows you to save your initial deposit (one per person, per confirmed tour) for an unlimited time, be it 10 weeks or 10 years. Put simply, we want to do the right thing by our travellers and ensure you can still take another trip if your plans have to change.
We also realize that your travel preferences can change over time, so your Lifetime Deposit can be used on any future tour and is not limited to the destination on your original booking. Use your Lifetime Deposit to select the dream trip that suits your interests when you plan your next adventure—maybe you’ll choose to sail the Galapagos Islands, trek overland in Africa, or cruise around Antarctica—no matter the preferred trip, we have an adventure for everyone!
Under the new policy, Lifetime Deposits are also transferable. That means you can transfer your initial deposit to another traveller of your choice at no additional charge—is there any better way to give the gift of adventure? If you’re feeling generous, you can even donate your deposit to our non-profit Planeterra Foundation. We’ll then match the value of your donation.
